Junior Seau died on May 2, 2012; the linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) had turned into San Diego sports icon. He took leave of pro football in 2010. He was later inducted into the Chargers Hall of Fame and the team retired his number 55.

Seau committed suicide with a gunshot to his chest on May 2, 2012 at the age of 43 at San Diego, California. His girlfriend Megan Noderer found him dead at his home in Oceanside California and called 911, panicking and crying on the call. Gina Seau, his wife said that he did sustain concussions during his career but he was a warrior and he would always bounce back to play again. The reason for his death is cited to be major depression traced to concussion related brain damage, in the form of a condition known as chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).
The latest news on this front is that a thief burglarized Junior Seau’s home garage on May 7, 2012 just a few days after the NFL star committed suicide. The thief reportedly stole a $500 bicycle which actually belong to Seau’s friend and left through the garage door.
